I have studied natural healing all of my life. As one of 10 children, our family life revolved around loving care. I remember receiving an enema from my Mother whenever I felt a fever coming on or had a bellyache. We did not have the luxury of running to a medical doctor since my Mother didn't drive a car. I can still remember the use of home remedies like apple cider vinegar and herbs from my Grandfather's garden. We never had access to antibiotics or other drugs and now I can see the blessing in that good fortune. Our immunity grew strong as we rested and enjoyed my Grandmother's good soups.
When I met my husband, Michael J. Shea, Ph.D., I had just finished my first series of colon hydrotherapy treatments. As we sat at dinner on our first date, I was amazed to find out that he was both a massage and colon hydrotherapist. In fact, he had been teaching colonics in Colorado since the early 1980's. I began to travel and study with him in 1990 after we were married. It became clear to me that my career in real estate was coming to an end as I was entering into my practice of helping people heal themselves.
I then became licensed by the Department of Health, Division of Quality Medical Assurance in Florida in 1992 and began a full-time practice of colon hydrotherapy. Michael encouraged me to begin teaching and after assisting him at numerous courses around the world, it was a natural transition.
Our recent research shows that 80% of our client base has one or more food sensitivities. Gluten is the biggest offender and it is found in wheat, barley, rye and spelt. Since mainstream markets sell an abundance of wheat products our choices are limited. Exploring the health food store options like millet, quinoa, buckwheat, teff and basmati brown rice open us to healthier possibilities.
Today I lead groups who desire to become professionally certified in colon hydrotherapy as well as regular folks with a desire to take responsibility for their health and well-being. It is such fun to share the yummy recipes and home remedies as we learn from one another. I'm about to publish the first colon hydrotherapy textbook as well as a new cookbook that features goodies that are free of gluten, dairy and other common allergens. Trust me, these can taste good and I've done the experiments with lots that were thrown away!
Please join us as we help to end the suffering of humanity!

Jeannette has been a holistic health professional for over 17 years. In her twenties she lived and worked with a service community, the PeaceWeavers where she cooked for private clients, retreats and PeaceWeaver events. Through her work with the PeaceWeavers, Jeannette cared for an old Buddhist monk, Bhante Dharmawara, who shared stories from his life of traveling the world and being of service. He had a close relationship with Prime Minister Nehru and worked with Mahatma Gandhi. He lead “green light” meditation, silent retreats and was passionate about supporting people in making healthy choices. Bhante insisted colon cleansing was essential for vital health and longevity, he would often say “cluttered colon, cluttered mind” and “if your digestive system does not work properly … how can you expect your body to work properly?!”
